This morning I happened upon an article on MSNBC describing a Spanish-language recording of the Star Spangled Banner.

The poll attached to the article (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12526651/) indicated this morning when I last checked that over 80% of respondents think this is terrible.
I find this shocking. Not the recording, but the fact that so many people object to it. A bunch of Spanish-speaking performers plan to record the National Anthem in Spanish, and people are actually getting upset about this?
Our National Anthem (the words of which were penned by Francis Scott Key, who was an alumnus of my much-beloved alma mater) expresses our great love of our flag and the country it represents.
Why should any American be upset that other residents of America love this country?
Instead of seeing this as an attack on America, can’t we see it as a great honor?
