Another Way School Doesn’t Prepare You for the Real World

February 22, 2006 psipsina

Remember when you were in high school and you had 5 or 10 minutes between classes in which to go to your locker, dump the books from the previous class, get the books for the next class, flirt with the cute boy at the next locker, and go to the girls’ room?

Here is my schedule on a typical Wednesday afternoon:

1:00 to 2:00 pm:  Meeting with Engineering Staff
2:00 to 2:30 pm:  Meeting with Non-Technical Staff
2:30 to 3:30 pm:  Meeting with WPS Team (you don’t need to know what WPS means)
3:30 to 4:00 pm:  Meeting with boss

Dude, what happened to my 10 minutes?  The only reason I have time to write this now is that someone cancelled my 2:00 meeting today, probably because they had to go to the bathroom.
