Cats, Radiators

March 14, 2006 psipsina

When I studied Greek in college, we practiced translating on short fragments of classical Greek.   One of them, I remember, was something about how if horses had gods, they’d look like horses, and if oxen had gods, they’d look like oxen.

Well, if cats had gods, they’d look like radiators.

My boys sit in front of the Radiators staring at them as if the Radiators emanated Divine Wisdom and Grace, as if they were the Source of All Being in the universe, the Mystical Heat Source Which alone is Worthy of worship and adoration.

Each of them has a favorite Radiator.  Oliver worships in the bathroom; Homer, in the bedroom.  I’m not sure about this, but I think it means they belong to different sects or denominations of Radiatorism.
