Here, Moosey Moosey Moosey!

My cousin B. sent me these links about a moose that wandered into my hometown of Watertown, NY.  Watertown is not a huge city (2005 estimated population, courtesy of the US Census Bureau, was 27,220), but it’s big and urban enough that moose (meese? mice?) are not exactly everyday visitors.

That moose got around, too – it seems to have covered a distance of a couple of miles before they subdued it.  It was fun imagining a moose lumbering (or whatever meese do) along familiar streets (Ives Street is where my high school is), but my favorite part is at the end of the audio file:

Cop 1:   Thomas, you’re gonna have to do your best to keep the people away.
Cop 2:  Yeah, nobody wants to listen today.
